How the real soccer girls dress for soccer

Soccer (Football in Europe) is one of the funnest sports around, but you can’t play if you’re not dressed properly! Here is how to dress to be a pro soccer girl:

1) Wear your socks over your shin guards. Some girls think it is okay to wear your shin guards over your socks, but it is not. During the games the ref will not let you get on the field unless your socks are over your shinguards. Your socks help keep the shin guards in place, they are not just to look nice. The socks should be relatively close to your kneecaps, and they need to cover the entire shin guard. You are allowed to tuck the end of the socks into the shin guards, however or you can just fold them over at the top.

2) Tuck your shirt in (if you forget, the ref will remind you guaranteed!). Make sure you tuck it in on all sides, and not just the front. This is for your own good. If your shirt isn’t tucked in in the back, then the referee won’t be able to tell if someone pulled your shirt. That’s why it’s important to tuck it in.

3) Wear cleats if you’re playing outdoors. You can wear turf shoes if you’re on turf, but these are not accepted on grass. Your cleats can’t have metal spikes, or anything that may hurt another player. Make sure your laces are tied, and that they won’t come loose. Your shoes should fit snugly. Its best to get a new pair of cleats every season. But you don’t have to.

4) Don’t wear jewelry! This is important because metal clips and other items can injure other players and can even injure yourself pretty badly. A simple necklace can even strangle you. Make sure you wear nothing hard during the game. Don’t just put tape over your earlobe. The “Laws of the Game” state no jewelry, and referees are taught not to allow players to simply cover the earring. Soft head bands are okay though.

5) Have your hair in a pony-tail if it’s long. If your hair goes past your shoulders, put it up. This makes it easier to see in the game. You can use skinny and soft headbands to hold your hair from falling in your face.

6) Wear shorts. Leggings that go under your shorts are acceptable, but you cannot wear pants. They make under Armour to go under shorts too. Goalies are allowed to wear pants.

7) Wear under armor under your shirt. You can’t wear jackets or warm-up shirts over your team shirt because it hides what team you’re on. You can wear a jacket under your shirt, but it can’t have a zipper. You can wear a sweatshirt under your shirt, but you can’t wear the hood over your head. All types and colors of under shirts and under armor are considered acceptable as long as it’s under your shirt. Its best to go with a color like your teams colors. Black and White look good under anything. However, the goalie needs to wear a shirt that’s a different color than the rest of their team’s so they can be differentiated.

8) Use Goalie stuff if your a Goalie. If your a Goalie you need to use the right stuff. Your going to need a good pair of gloves. Remember to wear a different color shirt. And wear anything the coach tells you to use.

9) Wear a mouth guard. This isn’t necessary, but it is encouraged if you have braces or another kind of condition with your teeth. Gel ones are really great. Better be safe than sorry.
